Overall: I like it, as it was a free alternative to photoshop when designing Six Flags ads. The red eye reduction process was my personal favorite, as it COMPLETELY removes the red from the iris, this was a real problem, because most of the photos were shot inside, with the flash on. Pros: As someone who has used Photoshop in the past and then used GIMP because that was all that was available, it was a quick solution because it has very similar looking tools to Photoshop.
Cons: Not as much extensions as Photoshop with editing different files. Overall: I love Gimp because it's free to use and gets the job done. There has been plenty of times I've edited photos that people thought I used Photoshop for which is crazy. I've used Photoshop and the program is not easy to use nor easy to navigate around opposed to Gimp. Gimp makes it easy to find features within the program and anyone is able to use it. Pros: One of its great advantages is that it is completely free, since it is a free code, you can also obtain it for different operating systems such as Linux and Windows, it is a powerful tool for editing images that has a panel where you will find everything you need to be able to touch up the images, you can also download add-ons that will help you customize it to your liking, it does not require a powerful computer to be able to use it, that I love. Cons: It all depends on the use that is given to it, it is not a very complex tool for design, but it has what it needs, and its interface is a bit different from other editors, so it may take a while to adapt.
