I'm Gini von Courter. In this course I'll show you how to use the Word mail merge feature to quickly and easily create personalized letters, envelopes, labels, and email messages.
• Use the logo design process to understand Word’s limitations (and design features). I have drawn a few logos on Word for my personal blog and just for fun or practice. It has been an exercise in using constraints. Good logo design is always about keeping things simple (the KISS principle). Using the right pair of fonts can stretch your imagination all on its own.

You may be seeing it differently onscreen from the way it will print. Under ‘View,’ if you have ‘Normal’ on, try changing to ‘Print Layout’ or use the Print Preview function. A second method, if that doesn’t help, would be to create a text box that falls over all your text area, insert your picture in it (it must already be treated so that it’s faint enough to stand having readable print over it), and choose the text box formatting option ‘Behind Text.’ [Edit] Perhaps I misunderstood your intent.

After you adjust the bounding box, if there are still areas of your image that are purple that are not supposed to be purple, go to the Background Removal tab in the Ribbon. It may come in handy when you do not have ready accessibility to those top notch tools like Photoshop (as Paint and Word should be there by default).
