I have the same issues as you do adding attachments from Outlook 2011 for Mac through Maildrop to SFDC. The work around I have found is to keep Mac Mail open (that is tied to my exchange server at work) and it will allow for Maildrop to recognize an attachment and send it to the proper SFDC record.
